After years of resisting his teammates' good intentions, big, bad and cranky Delta Force soldier, Magnus "Duff" McCormick, agrees to a blind date. Memories of his wife who died on their honeymoon derail his date with the beautiful redhead his friends introduce him to. When his date is attacked and almost stolen away, Duff comes to the rescue and sticks to her like glue, memories be damned.

Newly free-spirited Ivy Fremont, daughter of a senator, gave up her career as a lawyer to own and operate a gift shop, where mistakes won't cost anyone his or her life. When her world is turned upside down and her life is threatened, her blind date and his team of Deltas launch a mission to Costa Rica to save her.

During their escape from a gnarly drug cartel, Ivy and Duff learn they have more in common than just their friends' desire to get them together. Passions flare and walls around one intrepid soldier's heart come tumbling down. They find in each other a reason to live and fight to give love a chance.

** Ivy's Delta is the 4th book in the Delta Team Three Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

** Operation Alpha is a fan-fiction world for Susan Stoker's novels. The characters in this series were introduced in Stoker's Delta Team Two series, specifically, book two, Shielding Kinley. You don't have to read that book to be engrossed in this series, but why wouldn't you want to? Enjoy!

  • Romantic suspenseful story, could not put down

Gwen set her friend Ivy up with one of Merlin’s Delta team mates as a blind date to go to Ugly Mug bar with her for a send off for a teammate. Ivy has never been to a military bar before and is a little reluctant since it is a blind date.. Merlin set up his teammate Duff as Ivy’s blind date. “For the record, I don’t like being setup”. Duff said. Wolf states, someone had to do it. Ever consider I like being alone? Duff grumbled. Yeah but we are hoping a woman can smooth out the ruff edges, and I’m bringing Nori, “she’s looking forward to seeing Duff take the fall for a female” says Wolf. “I’m not going to fall,” Duff muttered. “I don’t even know the woman.” Merlin chuckled. “Famous last words.” This is The Very Basic Beginning to a wonderfully suspenseful romantic story I just could not put down.

  • Duff & Ivy

Ivy Fremont, once a successful attorney and daughter to the Senator of Texas, is the proud owner of her own business. It’s small, not extremely busy, but it pays the bills. It also allows her a sense of worth, freedom, and success that being an attorney never accomplished. Plus, it makes her mom mad that she gave up a position at a prestigious law firm to become a business owner. “Duff” McCormick, Delta Force team 3 member, is one of the last to succumb to love. After losing his wife eight years ago to an accidental death while on their honeymoon, he vowed to NEVER love again. He enjoys his dirt bikes and his job. Duff believes his life to be complete. Until... Ivy and Duff meet as Ivy literally “falls” into his arms at Camelot Rare Bookstore. Ivy kisses her “hero”, jumps out of his arms, and never sees him again. Duff searches for her, but doesn’t find her. Duff’s teammates arrange a blind date for him. He doesn’t want to go, but feels he owes it to them. His blind date...no other than the woman who kissed him and ran. The date goes well, until it doesn’t. Duff leaves abruptly, doubts himself, then ends up rescuing Ivy from a kidnapping. But kidnapping is the tip of the iceberg for this couple. They are running for their lives from Texas to Costa Rica and back! Action-packed and chaos! Twist and turns abound, some predictable while others were not. I thoroughly enjoyed reading these stories with an underlying theme. Although the first three books can be read as stand alone’s, I recommend reading them in order for the full effect. Each story is unique, involves a rescue of sorts, are inter-related, but do NOT end in a cliffhanger! Awesomeness abounds! I did think this novel was a little more suspenseful and action-packed than the others, but ALL of them were enjoyable. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
  • Will they ever have a date?

Ivey’s Delta ( Special Forces:Operation Alpha):Delta Team 3, Book Four Elle James Duff spoke very little and always seemed grumpy. Then he met Ivy and healing started. Although every time they tried to date someone tried to kidnap her. Could it be something connected with her mom, the senator? On their picnic she is kidnapped and the Delta teams have to follow them to Costa Rico in order to rescue her. Again the Delta members take care of their own and important ladies. Twists and turns that had me not putting it down until the end.
  • Super exciting

This is the love story of Duff and Ivy. I received this book as an ARC. Duff was the quiet non-talker of the Delta Force Three group. Never wanting to go out with women because of a horrible accident from his past. When he is set up on a blind date and meets Ivy, she brings him back to life. This story has many twists and turns and I loved it. I love reading Elle James books. She is a wonderful author and knows how to bring her stories to life.
